K’üà Män (Fishtrap lake)

According to Southern Tutchone oral histories, salmon once swam all the way up the Jarvis river into Kloo lake, where fish traps were used to catch them. This was before glacial advances blocked the river and stopped salmon from making it this far. A good hunting and trapping ground, the area was also a stopover on trails connecting peoples throughout the region. Most of the village was abandoned over time, though one family still resides there today.
