G̱uwakaan Teiyí (Deer/Peace Rock)

Deer were known as peacemaking, kind animals. This place was known as a peacemaking spot and a spot for making treaties and settling disputes. [3] When the road leading to Chilkoot Lake was built in the 1960s, some key landmarks associated with this village were damaged or destroyed, including the “Peace Rock,” the remains of which were subsequently cobbled together and marked by a wayside exhibit [6].
