Dayéi X̱’akax’áas (Waterfall at the mouth of Dayéi)

Mouth of a creek on the east side of Taiya inlet. This was a place to seek shelter in inclement weather on the canoe voyage along Taiya inlet. John Marks notes, “They had kind of a place where they had a stop off. If it was real bad weather you could spend the night there or whatever. Kind of like a little, dinky village.” This stop off was right before a northward-traveler entered the land of Kanagoo, “the child of the north wind” [6]
