“2.6 Million Acres: The Story of the Chilkat Tlingits’ Lands”
Part 1 – Ancestral Times & Clan Ownership
Join Klukwan Library Co-Director, Jamie Katzeek, as she shares the newest film project from the Klukwan Community and School Library. Part 1 of a 4-part documentary about the land history of the Chilkat Tlingits. Listen as our elders share stories of their youth living in the traditional Chilkat Tlingit territory. Through interviews and research of old documents and archive photos, we bring you the stories of the way our ancestors used this area. You’ll learn about the many different locations the ancestors used for subsistence and what clans had ownership of these areas.
